About the ReVAMP Developer
-
My name is David Kent. I am an experienced, dedicated, and flexibly-minded educator.
-
I use my education and experience to implement the Lindamood process with each individual student in mind.
-
Recently, I learned a specialized process to remediate Dyslexia. I now utilize that Lindamood-based process and my experience to guide my instruction as I utilize the ReVAMP Reading process with each student.
-
I have implemented other programs (Wilson, Lindamood-Bell). During that instruction, I carefully monitored student development to learn what works best. I used that information to guide the development of ReVAMP Reading.
-
I also spent a year taking counseling classes, to more effectively provide a safe, comfortable environment in which my students are able to learn.
-
I continue to seek out the most current research and add aspects to my instruction to help each student.

ReVAMP Reading and its Developer
ReVAMP matches skill-building techniques with the findings of abundant research studies on the brain and language development, particularly as they are related to Dyslexia and other potential learning roadblocks. Its carefully crafted sequence proceeds from articulation and phonology to phonics and proceeds to morphology. The process then incorporates fluency instruction and links that to the building of comprehension. It allows each student to advance at his own pace and to experience success at every step along the way.
ReVAMP’s originator, David Kent, is a dedicated reading specialist with a wide range of experience in the use of several prominent reading programs. Based on one-on-one sessions, as well as small-group sessions, with more than 250 students, kindergarteners through senior citizens, he has become keenly aware of techniques and processes that have proven to be successful and those which have produced little progress. His program has been carefully developed by integrating the most effective aspects of the successful programs and by incorporating some innovative, research-and-experience-based elements of his own. Many of his students, of varying ages, have borne out results revealed by research, which show that it is possible to change how the brain grasps language and can become better able to retain information in many realms.
